Ikebukuro Station:
       
 
Along with Shinjuku and Shibuya, Ikebukuro is one of the 3 largest entertainment/shopping districts of Tokyo, attracting mostly people from Northern Tokyo and Saitama. It is the second busiest train station in Japan handling more than 1 million passengers per day. Three subway and several suburban train lines intersect at the station. There are several department stores located at the station including Seibu, Tobu, Marui and Parco department stores for clothes, as well as Sakuraya and Bic Camera for electronics.

Similarly to Shinjuku/Kabukicho, the streets tend to be dirtier than elsewhere in Tokyo and the numerous Pachinko parlours & adult entertainment establishments might be a turn off for some. One attraction worth noting is the 240m-high 60m-tall Sunshine City tower which offers a nice view of the surrounding area and the Shinjuku skyscrapers in the distance. The elevators are amongst the fastest in the world boasting a speed of 600 meters/min.
